Nothing says “Autumn” like the scents of clove, cinnamon and nutmeg. This easy melt and pour soap is perfect for the Halloween and Thanksgivings seasons. It’s a perfect soap for home AND to give as a party favor!
Autumn Spice Melt and Pour Soap Recipe
Yield: Six 2-oz. bars of soap
3 drops each of red and yellow soap colorant
2 droppers of Cinnamon Leaf essential oil
2 droppers of Clove Leaf essential oil
½ tsp. nutmeg, grated
1 tsp. oatmeal, pulverized (optional)
Soap mold of your choice
- Melt white melt and pour soap in a glass container in the microwave. Heat in 5 to 10-second sessions until the soap is just melted. You may also melt the soap in a double boiler until the soap is just melted.
- Stir in colorant, essential oils, nutmeg and oatmeal until all ingredients are mixed well into the melted soap.
- Pour melted soap into soap mold and let completely set, then release the soap from the mold. If you only have one soap mold, repeat Steps 1 and 3 until all soaps are made.
That’s it! To give the soap as a party favor, you may package in small cellophane bags and tie with raffia and silk autumn leaves—or use your imagination for other ways to package!
