When I heard people were traveling from all over the world to see the wildflower super bloom in Anza-Borrego, California, I realized I had to schedule a day off to see this spectacular sight for myself. It was only about a two-hour drive from San Diego. With the first view of some of the wildflowers, I knew the trip had been worthwhile if that was all I saw!
The first stop was at the Anza-Borrego Desert Natural History Association in the middle of town. We were told it was best to get a map highlighting where the best displays of wildflowers were. This turned out to be so worthwhile as several years before we had gone to see the wildflowers and couldn’t find many. I would like to share a few photos of these spectacular wildflowers!
Hungry caterpillars
Enormous metal animal sculptures lined many of the roads throughout Anza-Borrego!
